With the celebration of the holy mass in the cathedral the Second European OFS and YouFra Congress has started in Mostar.

Under the motto: Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received (Eph 4,1), The Second European Congress of YouFra and OFS started on 17th of August with celebration of holy mass in cathedral of Mary Mother of Church, in Mostar.

Saint mass was celebrated by mons.dr. Ratko Perić, the bishop of Mostar who reflected on to the Gospel of the day in his homily, but also to the motto of congress.

The bishop explained and emphasized that „worthy living of the call“ means to live seriously and responsibly, that means with humbleness – go through the earth, not through the air; with all mildness – eager to learn and generous; with all patience – with yourself, with others, with God; enduring each others in love.

Working part of the day started with recalling of Holy Spirit, and then general minister of OFS b. Tibor Kauser saluted all participants. In his speech b.Tibor has invited all gathered to build and rebuild bridges and to carry peace in places where we live/our homeland and in all Europe. Participants were also saluted by Andrea Odak, international coordinator of YouFra and Matea Galić, national minister of OFS, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Introductory lecture on the theme of Congress was held by fr. Anto Vučković, professor at Faculty of Theology in Split,Croatia. F.Ante lectured about the call in the light of the gospel, and emphasized that everyone can live in one or another manner but the christians are called to live different from others.” The call is always given us bacause of others, not just because of ourselves.” – emphasized f.Anto and added that truly living of the call is achived through time
This Congress will certanly be one more step to reach that call.
