Fraternal and Pastoral visit and
First OFS National Elective Chapter.

The presence of the SFO in Togo began in 1961. In fact, this year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of their presence in the country. In this circumstance, the Fraternal and Pastoral Visit, which took place from December 2 to 10, 2011, was of special importance.  The fraternal visit was carried out by Michèle Altmeyer, Councilor of the CIOFS Presidency for the French language, whereas the pastoral visit by Br. Ivan Matic, OFM, Assistant General to SFO-YouFra. [continued]

The Fraternal and Pastoral Visit of the OFS of Mozambique took place from the 23rd to the 30th of July 2011. The Fraternal Visit was done by Maria Aparecida Crepaldi, the Councillor of the current leadership of the International Council of OFS (CIOFS) and the Pastoral Visit by Fr. Ivan Matić, OFM, General Assistant of OFS-Yufra. [more]

From June 1st to 7th, 2011, Secular Franciscans, Franciscan Youth and Spiritual Assistants gathered at St. Bonaventure’s College in Lusaka, Zambia for the 5th Congress of English-speaking Africa. [continued]

TWO YEARS AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI.

From July 28 – August 1st, Doug Clorey and Attilio Galimberti visited the Emergent Fraternity of Haiti. The purpose of the visit was to express to the brothers and sisters of Haiti the solidarity of the Secular Franciscan Order, to meet with the Provisory National Council of Haiti, to verify the implementation of the recommendations that were given to them during the course of the visit made in June 2010, and to explore the possibility of further developing the Project CIOFS for Haiti. Doug, Vice General Minister of the OFS, represented The General Minister and the International Presidency of the OFS in this visit; he took the opportunity to introduce Attilio, coordinator of the Project for Haiti for the International Presidency. Attilio and his wife Rosa accepted the job of coordinating the project for the Presidency CIOFS.
