To all National Councils of YouFra

To all National Councils of SFO

To International Councillors of YouFra and SFO

Circ. 17/08-14

Prot. N. 2218/10

Dear brothers and sisters,

Peace and good!

In addition to the letter of the Franciscan Family about the program being prepared for all young Franciscans around the world during World Youth Day (WYD) in Madrid, we send you this letter to inform you about the YouFra International Meeting which will precede the 2011 World Youth Day (WYD).

As it has become a tradition for YouFra from all over the world to get together in the days before WYD, so it will also be next year when we celebrate the 26th WYD in Madrid. We are organising a YouFra International Meeting to bring together young people in order to share and deepen the experiences that we have shared with our fraternities since our last meeting in Sydney. This will give us the possibility of participating and sharing the joy of being Christians together with all young people who will be present at WYD.

We have already started to prepare the program for this meeting and, with this letter, we would like to inform you about some of the details around this YouFra International Meeting. It will take place in Madrid on August 12-15, 2011, and then we will join the celebration of WYD on August 16-21, 2011.

Since the capacity of the school where we will stay is limited, the maximum number of participants per national fraternity is 20. We kindly ask you to inform us of the exact number of participants from your national fraternity by December 31, 2010, at youfrawyd2011@gmail.com. However, if you need more places for the participants from your national fraternity, please indicate it clearly when you communicate with us and, after December 31, 2010, we will inform you if it will be possible to have more places.

The costs of participating in the YouFra International Meeting will be around 60 Euros. We would very much appreciate it if some fraternities, either SFO or YouFra fraternities, could provide some economical support to participants of fraternities coming from countries with economic difficulties.

We remind you that it is necessary for you to apply for WYD at the official WYD website: http://en.madrid11.com. In this way, you will be able to get a PASS for different events during WYD, and also for public transportation and meals.

If you should want to stay in the same place after the YouFra International Meeting, you will have to choose the registration option A2 “Entire week, no housing”. On the other hand, if you wish to change your housing during WYD, you should choose the registration option A1 or other options.

Please note that it will not be possible to stay at the school where the YouFra International Meeting is taking place, before or after the dates of this meeting. We therefore ask all participants to respect the dates indicated (August 12-21, 2011) for their arrivals and departures from Madrid. The organisers cannot be responsible for your accommodations before and after these dates.

For now, this is all the information that we can provide. You will receive more details in the letters to come.

We extend fraternal greetings to each of you,

Members of YouFra Commission,

Ana Fruk

CIOFS Presidency Councillor for YouFra
